Anthony completed his 9 weeks RAF training involving harsh living conditions and severe discipline. The first part of this was basic military training, which consisted of Ironing, alot of physical training, Drill, more Drill and Drill Assessments! It was a good job he was in the Squadron’s winning Drill team that year!
They then went on to the good stuff! Spending 4 weeks with the RAF Regiment including realistic exercises in the field (lasting up to four days), preparation for Biological Nuclear Warfare, first aid and rifle training to name a few—they were then further tested to make sure they’d learnt everything!
It was evidently a tough 9 weeks, however Anthony said his time in the ATC really helped him in overcoming the challenge;

“The training at RAF Halton involved alot of what I’d done in my cadet career, most notably the marksmanship since I’d gained my Region Marksman Award during my time at 90”
