The Annual Hockey competition on Merseyside wing was always going to be an anticipated date, seeing as how the Boys team triumphed and the Girls team coming a close second in 2008.
However, after weeks of practice both teams found victory and 90 walked away with both trophies.
Both teams managed to sweep the group staged by not losing to any of the three teams in the group (Including Rivals 2359 Squadron!). the Goalkeeper for the men’s team, Cpl Mike Threlfall had a very easy job, with the team not conceding a single goal in the group stages.
Onto the Finals where the girls played a fantastic game to seal the Victory by 2 goals and take home the trophy. The boys team had an uphill struggle of a semi-final along with a final against Huyton Squadron (Also bitter rivals!). But again 90 Squadron delivered a brilliant performance, scoring first. However a lapse in concentration saw Huyton score. But having dominated most of the match, 90 took the lead a second time in the second half to seal the win and do a complete clean sweep of the trophies.
