The ATC is the largest operator of the Duke of Edingburgh Award Scheme. Perhaps that's not so surprising when you learn that HRH Prince Philip is the ATC's Commodore-in-Chief, taking a keen interest in the organization and its members.

The Duke of Edinburgh award is a chance for you to push your limits, discover things about yourself and see what life is like living off what you can hold on your back, literally!

Living only off what you hold on your back
A long weekend
A tiring weekend...

The Award is set in 3 Stages; Bronze, Silver and Gold. As you progress through the stages the expeditions become longer and harder, but ultimately more rewarding. For each stage there is a practice (to make sure your up to it!) and what we call an Actual (to correct your mistakes and put into practice what you've learnt).

The 'D of E' as it is known also gives you a chance to bond with your mates, see new things and have a great laugh. In addition you will learn vital navigation skills using bearings, team skills and how to cook in the field. An all around great experience for anyone wanting to test their limits, see knew things and have a great laugh with their mates.
